Title: Slowtime
Post by: Blaidrug on June 30, 2014, 04:28:46 PM
So, it occurred to me.

I haven't been on the RP server (really, most of Claytonia) for a while.
Being a spazztic artist I am, I attributed this to my short attention span, a dozen projects at once, as well as, in no small part, family medical issues.

But, upon reading about the Hexxit server, I realized something. We have a great lore and a well developed story, but there's never really anything to do. Most, if not all, of the events are player driven, and, with the server being mostly empty a lot of the time, there's never enough people to do anything. It ends up becoming vanilla minecraft with a few RPG elements and restrictions.
Hexxit, from what I'm able to gather, has NPC quests and things of that nature. A single player could be on it and have his own adventure without having to worry about someone else having to play puppet master, which makes the player rely on said masters' schedule.

Not sure if anyone else had really noticed this, I'm sure someone had, but just wanted to put it out there.
My own two cents lol

That's the point of the Hexxit server.. there were restrictions holding the RPG server down in some ways, so we came up with ways to combat that. Out of that came Hexxit.

I'm not sure what you're inferring

Just a joke
a bad one I guess lol

Referring to your plan to boost the RP server (in it's now various forms) with the hexxit mudpack as a scheme, thereby jokingly inferring that you are an omnipotent, mysterious entity of the claytonian forums.

The fact that we've never seen what you look like, and you were always there (without being "there) in the servers makes it even more humorous to me.

The hexxit server is a conpletely separate entity, run by different people, not an 'enhancement' to the current one.

I'm not implying I'm omnipotent or anything of the sort

Though i am apparently often regarded as mysterious, given the fact that people don't know me

I was only meaning that this is an RP server built off of the mistakes and improvements from the original RP server.

It could be viewed like that.. To us its more like an adventure server, rather than rp

And more inspired, not based off

Well, that's the thing. To me, that's what an RP should be, adventure in an exciting world.

Exactly, its hard to get that in vanilla minecraft regardless..

Though i have to admit, the forge modding for me so far has been the worst development experience I've ever had.. Its just downright awful
