For a good couple years, I've been maintaining a 64x resource-pack for Minecraft based on the theme of realism.
Over time, it's become a good mix of my own works, as well as the works of other texture pack authors such as Misa or Ovo.
Here's a couple random pictures featuring the pack, so you get the idea:

There's a couple different downloads:
Tslat 64x 1.9 - OptimisedContains full support for every item & block in Minecraft 1.9http://www.claytonia.net/tslat/Hosting/Tslat%2064x%201.9%20-%20Optimised.zip (http://www.claytonia.net/tslat/Hosting/Tslat%2064x%201.9%20-%20Optimised.zip)
Tslat 64x 1.9Contains full support for every item & block in Minecraft 1.9 with improved colour depth (larger download and more ram usage). Also full Optifine. Optifine is Highly Recommendedhttp://www.claytonia.net/tslat/Hosting/Tslat%2064x%201.9.zip (http://www.claytonia.net/tslat/Hosting/Tslat%2064x%201.9.zip)
Tslat 64x 1.9 SoundPackContains sound replacements for 80% of ingame music and sounds. Use it as an addon, or on its own!http://www.claytonia.net/tslat/Hosting/Tslat%2064x%201.9%20SoundPack.zip (http://www.claytonia.net/tslat/Hosting/Tslat%2064x%201.9%20SoundPack.zip)
Tslat 64x CleanFontReplaces the font with a cleaner non-serif font. Great for people who don't like serifshttp://www.claytonia.net/tslat/Hosting/Tslat%2064x%20CleanFont.zip (http://www.claytonia.net/tslat/Hosting/Tslat%2064x%20CleanFont.zip)
Tslat 64x NoRainDoes what it says on the tin.http://www.claytonia.net/tslat/Hosting/Tslat%2064x%20NoRain.zip (http://www.claytonia.net/tslat/Hosting/Tslat%2064x%20NoRain.zip)
NOTE: Due to limited font support, both the main resource pack and the CleanFont pack fonts aren't as clean as they are with Optifine. If your computer is capable of running Minecraft with Optifine, I very highly recommend using it.
What is Optifine?Optifine is a free, client-side modification that improves performance of the game, offers a whole host of options for customising your experience while playing, and offers a bunch of tools to resource-pack developers to do things such as:
- Custom Enchantment animations
- Different mob skins (even sorted per biome!)
- Custom Item skins based on item data (want your wooden sword to become more and more splintered as it degrades?)
- Custom Sky
- Full Lighting and Shadowing - This makes a HUGE difference to the feel of the game
- Connected textures - So it's not just blocks repeated one after the other
- And far more..
Here's where you can find it:

I cannot recommend it highly enough.
